November. It’s been a full month of college football games, visiting family, celebrating birthdays, enjoying quality time with my husband, blogging, potty training, photo challenges, holiday planning, and being thankful. November went by in a blur of unusually warm weather that turned into blustery rainy days, filled with warm scarves, fashion boots, hot coffee, and cold hard cider.
So many small moments and family memories in one month organized here into numbers. Numbers to look back on, be thankful for and to reflect on as accomplishments and blessings.
I’m linking up today with Deena @shoestoshiraz with a monthly review of life’s happenings in terms of numbers:
In the month of November, I posted 30 pictures on Instagam (one for each day of the month) for the #simplyhomenovember photo challenge. Terryn @simplehomemamma put this together and it was a blast! You can visit my profile to see them.
And because I had so much fun with this one, I’m now hosting a December Photo Challenge with 31 photos for 31 days and hashtag #lovelylittledecember. Join in on Instagram at anytime, just make sure you use the hashtag so we can all connect!

During November I had two feature articles published:
I posted 5 blog posts plus 1 giveaway for 1 sea salt body scrub, which is going on through December 6th so be sure to check that out!
For the first time in November, I set goals for myself in terms of increasing my online following. I’m excited to say I met those goals and a little more! Consistent engagement, connecting with others through commenting and sharing their content plus utilizing automatic re-posting tools has been key.
Goals I set at the beginning of the month:
Instagram: Reach 500 followers
Twitter: Reach 1600 followers
Facebook: Reach 300 followers
Pinterest: Reach 600 followers
Results as of the 1st week of December:
Instagram: 594 followers
Twitter: 1645 followers
Facebook: 330 followers
Pinterest: 697 followers
I spent the first half of November trying to get my wooden peg dolls painted for the nativity exchange I did with 23 other moms. I painted 24 identical Balthazar wisemen total and then I met up with the other moms to do the exchange so now we all have a new nativity set for our kids!
On November 16th, my husband celebrated his 28th birthday! He brought home a box of cheescake bites from Sam’s club and we each had about 6 pieces there were so good!
I ran out of birthday wrapping paper for his present so I used 3 sheets of construction paper to craft a birthday sign/wrapping paper replacement. It worked so well he didn’t even notice!
On Thanksgiving night, my husband and I left the kids with Grandma and went black Friday shopping. We got door-busters at Shopko and Walmart for a total of 14 items, I think? We got most of our Christmas shopping done that night and the rest is online through Amazon. So in my book, I’m about done with my shopping since the online items are already picked out and saved and I can just do 1-Click purchasing with free two day Amazon prime shipping. Its amazing and totally worth having if you do most of your shopping online:
Since we got our shopping done the night before, we slept in on actual Black Friday and went to Ihop for breakfast where we feasted on 2 scrumptious meals including 1 stack of dark chocolate peppermint pancakes. Yes, they are wonderful!
Later that weekend, I took the kids to see Santa and we got 2 of the best Santa pictures we have ever had and admired 27 lovely decorated Christmas trees while we were there.
We also started decorating our house for Advent and Christmas. The kids helped me set up 4 advent candles, 40 pine cones and 10 miniature people for our Christmas village.
It’s been a full November and now we move right into the Christmas parties, holiday bustle and planning my daughters 3rd birthday party. Check out the other months in numbers at Deena’s blog.
